*Author's Hour with Chris Keefer, Sun. April 28, 2pm at NYPA Visitor Center, 1378 State Route 30, North Blenheim. The local author will discuss her work and read from her popular historical mysteries No Comfort for the Undertaker and Tragedy's Twin, featuring a bold and resourceful female amateur sleuth establishing herself in a male-dominated world.
SEEC Art Gallery Shows SCA and Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. partner to exhibit the work of talented Schoharie County artists at SEEC’s 287 Main St. Gallery in Schoharie. The first opening of the year was in February with an overflowing crowd admiring landscape paintings; look for additional openings in June and October.
Richmondville Days Sat. June 1, 9am-3pm on the Radez School lawn, 319 Main St., Richmondville. SCA will host a tent of hands-on art activities for children and adults led by Denise Misiph during the annual village-wide celebration.
Arts in Bloom Fest Sat. June 8, 10am-3pm at the Schoharie Library, 103 Knower Ave., Schoharie. Sponsored in part by SCA, the festival features musicians, artists and artisan vendors, as well as arts activities and a quilt and flower show. **African Dance and Drumming Workshops and Performance presented by Zorkie Nelson and his band and dance troupe Gballoi Tues.-Thurs., July 9-11. Rock your way to Ghana and back with the master percussionist, flutist and vocalist, accompanied by musicians and dancers in the Ga tradition.

Roots, Rhythm & Ale Fest Fri. Aug. 2, 5-9pm at the Iroquois Museum, 324 Caverns Road, Howes Cave. SCA is sponsoring a musical performance by the raucous rock four-piece band Red Wagon, as well as a pottery demonstration by David Smyth and Judy Cid, and a drawing/lithography demonstration by Amy Silberkleit. The events features several musicians, artists and artisan vendors, along with food trucks.
**Out of Bounds: Experimental and Progressive Music Festival Sat. Aug 17, 2-9pm at the Iroquois Museum, 324 Caverns Road, Howes Cave. Join bands Ampevene, Segundo Chino, Haishen, Involute, and more for out of this world fun.
Sharon Springs Harvest Festival Sat.-Sun., Sept. 21-22, Just in time for harvest, SCA will host a cornhusk artist demonstration and activity during the popular community-wide weekend celebration.
Arts Trail Driveabout: Sat.-Sun., Oct. 5-6. This countywide event celebrates the creativity of area artists and artisans by encouraging the public to visit studios and other venues where artists display and sell their work. The Driveabout is a self-guided tour throughout Schoharie County during peak foliage season with maps available.

Featuring Schoharie County authors Niamh and Rebecca Schmid, creators of the YA fantasy fiction series A Daughter's Ransom. Come and learn about the Medieval, Victorian/Steampunk, and modern TetraWorlds in this five-book series.
