Christine Harris reinvented her life when she made the move from Los Angeles to upstate New York in search of a simpler life.  In Sharon Springs, she discovered a vibrant arts community that nourished her creative spirit and sparked the discovery of a new career.

As an artist, Christine was drawn to the beauty and intricacies of flowers, honing her technical skills and developing a keen eye for detail through her floral photography. "With each flower I photograph, I strive to capture its grace and beauty, its delicate lines and curves," she says. "The magic happens when I process the images, revealing something new and unexpected, a glimpse into the soul of the subject."

Christine brings this same level of artistry and attention to detail to her portrait photography.  She’s capable of “seeing” the unique essence of her subjects and translating that into soul-revealing portraits that capture her client’s “light”.  It’s a privilege to be allowed to see people at their most authentic and true selves through the lens,” she says.  “It is a calling that I am thankful for every time I pick up my camera.”

Oil Paintings, Blacklight/ Glow in the Dark Art, Onestroke Art

Chloe Vanderpoel has been teaching in Cobleskill-Richmondville since 2013 and is new to selling and displaying her artwork. She was inspired by watching Bob Ross when she was young, and when she tried painting oil landscapes for the first time, it quickly became one of her favorite creative outlets. When she discovered Culture Hustle's LIT glow in the dark paint pigment, she combined it with her oil landscapes to create ethereal glow in the dark and fluorescent scenes. To date she has created over 100 paintings, and also does facepainting alongside her husband, Alex Vanderpoel, who is a balloon artist.

Music performance, songwriting, producing

Greg Bucking is a musician and songwriter, originally from Long Island, who moved to Jefferson in 2015. He performs regularly across the county and across the region as a solo artist as well as a sideman for various musical groups. He released four albums of original songs with The Vine Brothers, two albums with Mother Freedom, one with Broken Carousel, and in 2022 released his solo debut.
“Greg Bucking brings decades of performing and songwriting experience to every show he plays.  Whether from his days with the Americana/folk of The Vine Brothers, the ska/reggae of The Scofflaws, or the funk and rock n roll of Mother Freedom and Broken Carousel, the common thread is a grounding in all kinds of roots music.”

Painting

We’re here In the hamlet of West Fulton NY. In a fixer upper farmhouse that we bought in 2019. This area has had a profound effect on my work. I’ve transitioned from practicing abstraction and sculpture, to observational painting that comes from the point of view of personal/intimate experiences. I focus on showing the viewer how I interact with my surroundings from the perspective of an artist. Always searching, never averting my gaze. Personal document is at the forefront of what I’m capturing. Moments, memories, the poetry and significance of observing my life in a way that is almost from a bystanders view.

Pottery

We are Charles and Deanna Varney. We reside in Cherry Valley, NY where we make and fire pottery in our home studio.
We make atmospheric pottery by allowing the wood we use as fuel and soda / sodium vapor to assist in the  glazing and firing process. Charlie's work utilizes exclusively locally sourced materials.

Painting

I have been painting for 50+ years, self-taught then studied under Master Frank Covino in CT
All my work comes from deep inside my soul…always very personal and very large, not sometimes what you may want on your wall, but are enjoyed by the people and this matters too me; I guess you would say I am an Entertainer of the arts.

Mixed media, Ceramics, Encaustic

Leslie Yolen has worked predominantly in clay until recently when mixed media sculpture and encaustic paintings became part of her repertoire. She earned a BFA from Bennington College and an MS in Visual Arts Education from the College of Saint Rose. Her career in arts education has provided a broad perspective in how meaning is made from the visual experience, and what that contributes to our shared humanity.
As an artist I gravitate toward mediums that undergo transformation by fire and present a challenge due to lack of control or rather a certain amount of relinquishing to serendipity. No matter what the media, I relish that dialogue with the material. Inspiration often comes just from pushing the materials and process.
